PERFECTION

I strive to perfect in everything I do. Be perfect in school. Be perfect in BACCHUS. Be perfect at work. Be perfect babysitting. Just be perfect. My quest for perfect led to social anxiety disorder and generalized panic disorder. I beat myself up the hardest when I do something and I am not very self forgiving. Why do I bring this up? It was not apparent until recently, that even though I grown out of this, I still have some growing to. I sit in classes petrified that a professor will call me and I will give the wrong answer. I am constantly comparing myself to everyone else, and sometimes feel I am not as good as them.  However, there is nothing wrong with working hard to be just as good.
My quest for perfection include being at a weight that makes me feel confident.  That includes loosing 20 lbs. Ideally, I would like to lose 35, but 20 seems like a good goal for right. Healthy of course and old fashion. Healthy diet and exercising .
My journey of improving myself in ongoing, and probably will never end. I do believe that is the best way to live. Rather say "I wanna do this..." "I wanna do that...". I get out there and actually do it. k?great

SNOW :)

There is something about snow, that I love!  Here we are bracing for another 3-6 inches (well at least that was the last estimation...) of snow. Usually we get snowy winters, but its really only a month and a half into "real" winter and we've had 25-30+ inches. I am still on break from college so there is no possibility of a snow storm closing school, but I am still excited. I am close with a few people still in my high school so it would be nice for my phone not to explode from people texting me complaining about school being open. Also, if the public schools are closed, I don't have work. As much as I love my job, tomorrow I have things to do before work and things to do afterward so it would be a great day to have no work :). Around here, the snow gives a sense of peaceful and calmness. Everyone seems to be relaxed and the town seems to shut down and just relax. Alright, I'm exhausted so I'm gonna cut this short! k?Great

First Blog on this Blog

Hey! So I have had many blogs before. My first was when I was 14 turning 15.  It did not last very long, not long at all. I had daily updates about my life/activities but found it too time consuming and way too repetitive. So this blog is to talk about whatever happens and how I feel about about it. I will not update about my daily happenings, but I'll try to make it regular (at least twice a month/week).

So let me introduce myself. My name is Ashleigh and I am a sophomore at a small college. I also work part time at a local preschool. My hometown is small, very small. Everyone knows everyone and knows everyone's business.  That could be good or bad. My family is very well-known and respected in this town.  Again, thats good and bad part. Well known or not, my family is awesome. I have a sister, a mommy, a daddy, and of course a doggy. We are all very close and we are also close with my grandma, my aunts, uncles and cousins. My family means the world to me and I can't imagine life without them.

I also have the world's best friends. They are all so different, that they really don't get along. I have a friend, Ariana, is a typical American blonde cheerleader. We'll leave it at that. I met her through another friend the summer before 7th grade, Actually they were fighting, and I was yelling at her on behalf of our other friend, but somehow me and her became bestest friends. Another one, Megan, is really into movies, and is more or less majoring in movies at her university.  We met in kindergarden and actually lost contact when she switch schools, but quickly became friends again in middle school. My friend, Katie, as been one of my best friends since kindergarden. We actually say that we have been friends since we were in the womb because her grandfather and my mom actually worked together before!!! My friend, Kristalyn, is my friend I met right before I started college. She is a genius!!! She is my academic lifeline, and favorite person to iChat. My friend Matt is actually a year and half younger than me. I met him when we worked a summer job together 3 summers ago and we instantly clicked. We are really bad at talking regularly, but when we do - it goes on for hours!! These friends have become my family and have stuck by me no matter what. I have had many friends come and go, but these guys always seem to stick around!!! I love as if they were my sisters/brother.

Let's see, what else is there? My life pretty much revolves my job. I work at a preschool and do tons of babysitting on the side. I am so obsessed with my work! I make my class schedule around my work hours, even plan my social life around it. Again, I am obsessed. Despite working a lot for someone my age, I still managed to maintain a 3.6 GPA this semester, giving me a 3.47 overall. I do take school very seriously. The way I look at it; if I'm going to be stuck at a school for another 2.5 years, might as well make the best of it. Being a commuter, there is a lot of I spend off campus. This makes me feel a little disconnected from campus life. Not like there is much of a campus life at my school, but not living in the dorms does give me the feeling of missing out on the "college experience". That's all for now. k?great
